So last month I was browsing through the OST forum, and I came across pics of a conrail coilshield car that Proto48patrick is currently building, and said to myself,  I wish I could do that.  Last week, I decided to give it a try, although I went with something a little easier.  There is a huge shortage of modern gondolas out there so I bought an HO scale car from exactrail to use as my model.  After doing a little research on the car I found out that what exactrail was marketing as a Trinity 3242 65' gondola, was actually a Greenbrier 3564 66' gondola.  The only thing wrong with the exactrail model, was the paint scheme, so I began making my measurments and started cutting.

This is the car in question, sorry for the poor light.  It should be painted black, the Trinity 65' used this paint scheme, but was a lot different than this.

Here is my progress so far,  I have one of the ends done, and a part of one of the sides.  Unfortunately I forgot some things at the hobby store, so progress has slowed a little.  So far this has been one of the best projects that I have undertaken and I can't wait to try some other car types.  We'll see how this comes out first.

BTW, does anyone know who can make some custom decals for me?
