I have a 290 and 322, post war Flyer engines that I installed Command in.  Also brought a trestle bridge last week.  And installed some #760 x-ing flashers,  one is a Marx flasher,  also seen is my Corgi DSR streetcar that is powered by GBH trucks.

Nice to see some Flyer - there are several of us 'Flyer folks' lurking about on this forum.  I'm curious about what was involved in converting the two post-war Gilbert locomotives to "command" - a project that I've contemplated but haven't tried (yet).  Did you have to convert the electrical motors to can motors along with the necessary board(s) for command/control (presumably TMCC?)?

The only thing I did to the motors is install the 50mfd caps on the brushes.  I used ERR AC Cruise Commander to give me 100 speed steps,  It really runs smooth, especially when going slow.  There are two tricky things to consider.  A seperate wire from the smoke unit and a seperate wire from the headlite to tender connections if you want to control smoke and head light functions,  If you are using plastic tender shells, just glue the antenna to the roof, mine are both metal and had to be creative,  With the wires from engine I made a two wire connector.  Look at ERR instruction manual and you will see what I am talking about.  THe hardest part was just to decide to do it and get rid of the mechanical reverser...

One other option on the die cast tenders is to use nylon screws to attach the shell to the chassis with a small plastic washer at each screw and use the shell as the antenna, using a small lug on the end of the antenna wire and placing it on the shell side of the plastic washer.
