Anyone know who made this motor. I find the governor quite unique.

It looks like the axles are not parallel such that the locomotive can only run in a circle. French toy-train-makers like CR (Rossignol) made many trains like that, which were sold in sets with only a circle of rails. I do not recognize the motor, but know that CR had a number of patents on governors.

Still not sure who made the motor, but I've decided on a home for it. Front mount is easy. Still thinking about the rear mount.

Motor mystery solved. Mark on the Windup Trains Facebook group identified it as Marklin and show pictures of his locomotives with the same motor.
