Like others on this forum I wanted Lionel to release their USRA 4-8-2 with the Norfolk & Western roadname. Well that never happened so I managed to find one at a good price. I didn't want the small tender, I also found a Lionmaster Class A but it really didn't look correct. At one of many shows that the Trackers exhibit at, one of our members ran his Y3, that's the tender I needed! I checked with Lionel, the chassis with trucks was available and North Lima had a shell. I also got the spoked front wheel truck from the scale J. I used the guts from the Class A tender for the sound, the remains became a Christmas present for my son. Lots of work to remove the original lettering and many questions to Scott Smith and Big Jim I went to work relettering. I also installed ERR’s Cruise Commander and rebuilt the smoke unit per Mike Regan's video.
