I am not sure if this would be categorized under Tin Plate but what the heck.I am looking for a tender for a Lionel 239 scout.I think the tender that I need is a 242T tender.If anyone can help me out that would be great.I am at a lost as to where to post this,I think if i put it in the main forum it would not get a second look.I also put it under the Want to buy forum too.

Thats what I will probably do and as a mater of fact thats were I came up with the model number 242T lionel tender that I need for the 239 Lionel scout locomotive.I was just hoping that is the correct tender fot the 239 scout locomotive.

I think you are correct. This is a resource that I use: Lionel Trains Library. It says the following:
"The 239 was produced with either a 234W whistling tender or a 242T non-whistling tender. The functional 234W whistling tender represented an upgrade compared to the 242T non-whistling tender."
