Ever since I set up a Cab 1L and started running Legacy and TMCC engines I've had signal trouble. Mostly, the engine doesn't receive the signal depending upon where it is on the layout. After some research that explained how Legacy uses your house ground as an antenna I concluded that my problem was the lack of connected ground wiring in my house. Seems the DIY previous owner put in a ground stake outside but didn't connect it to anything. So I did an experiment where I connected 12 awg wire to the Cab 1L wall outlet ground, ran it across the room and out the window to the ground stake. Sure enough Legacy performance was flawless.
My question is whether I can spare myself the un-fun task of crawling under the house to make the ground connection to that one outlet. Is there another way inside the house to run a wire or add an antenna that is not a ground wire that will give me the same improvement?
Thanks, S
