I have a 9207 Soo line box car that is not the standard color. See file photo below. It is white body with red door ,black roof, and black lettering. Mine is all red except for white lettering ? Is this something special or is it a known variant?? I can't find any reference to it? Any one able to shed light on this mystery?

Two Michigan gentlemen were responsible for many "variations" of the 9200 series back in the 70's. One of the reasons I stopped collecting them.
Check with Todd Wagner (he was not one of the two). I'm sure he can supply a list of strange 9200's that were produced.

Paul, the white/black/red car as shown in your photograph is a rare piece. It was the factory-produced color sample/prototype for the later 9702 Soo Line boxcar.
If your 9207 car is solid red with white lettering, you have the common one.
