I have a 6-wheel tender (6-19833) that I need to remove the axle with the magnet from in order to replace the hall effect sensor that sits below it.  The axle appears to ride in bearings or bushings (circled in the photo) that are pushed into the truck.  These trucks look almost identical to the trucks used on Lionel's "Baby Madison" cars.  Does anyone know a successful way to remove the axle?  It seems that it might just pry up and out but I don't want to break anything.

Thanks.  John

On the outside of the truck, there is a slot that you insert a small flat blade screwdriver into. Push inward ever so slightly and pull up on the axle and wheel set. Reversing the process to replace the wheel set, it snaps back into place.

Be fore warned, don't push in on the plastic bearing too hard, they will snap off. Ask me how I know.
