Need help with Atlas O scale three rail boxcar

I'm not sure the date this particular road name was built, but Atlas first produced the 60' auto parts box car in 2000 if my memory serves correct.  Their minimum curve was 054 (although it appears they will run on 045 based on your post).  However in my opinion these look best on 072 curves.

Not sure Atlas went for the scale trains on small radius track. Are the wheel flanges rubbing on something you could cut away? Have one, but larger diameter curves. They are nice cars.

Thanks everyone for the help. I currently do not own any O-54 but I will be purchasing them soon as I pre-ordered the new Lionel k4 and need them so I will still be able to use the car. Even though atlas states O-45 recommended I would not as the wheels bind and scrape along the curves (which is not a pleasant sound at all).

You could raise the box car above the trucks using Nylon Washers and longer screws, if you can find longer screws.

Andrew, That is something that i might try so that i can run it on my O-45 curves till I get O-54 curves. Working at home depot finding longer screws should not be a problem.

What do you mean by rough?  Are the wheels touching stirrup steps or any of the frame when on curved tracks? John

That is an indication that your curves are too sharp for what that SCALE freight was designed for.
