Need Help with Lionel Gateman | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I'm restoring an old Lionel Gateman (I think #145). With the bottom cover removed, the wiring and mechanism looks like this. There is a dangling metal arm with a solder blob attached to it that is not connected to anything. My question that I hope you guys can help with is "where does that arm attach to"? Thanks,

Judging from the light bulb on the base in the picture I'd say you have a 45 or 45N gateman and not a #145. You'll need the pages for that accessory instead.

Looking into more, it appears to be a #45N Gateman. Sorry.

So, it was might have been soldered to the door hinge rod?
