Hi, I have a Lionel operating oil pump, or shall we say it used to operate, it is one of the older ones of the early 2000 years model number 6-34162. There is a 10 tooth pinion gear sticking down from a part on top of the base (pump ?)  that is cracked so the unit looks up do to a bad gear. I looked at both the parts catalog online, called Lionel tech support, but know one could help me and they referred me to the forum here. I was hoping someone would have experience with this issue and be able to point me in the right direction so that I can get it operational again. I did try searching most all of the hobby shops online and plastic gear manufacturers without any luck. Any help you have to offer would be GREAT! This will take away from the animation of our Christmas layout without having it working.  Best Regards

Hi Chuck, Thanks for the reply! I did go to Lionel parts and look at the picture and it appears to be exactly the same gear, the only unknown is the inside diameter but that's more than likely the same or if it's to small could be opened up a little. The shaft the gear rides on is cross hatched knurled for a good grip and I'm sure its a press fit. . Lionel does not offer the part for sale so where could I begin searching for a couple of these?
