I just picked up an old Lobaugh Challenger locomotive kit and it is missing some parts.

I'm able to get everything that I need from either Precision Scale or Bob Stevenson except for one part.

I have a steam delivery pipe for one side but I'm missing the pipe for the other side.

Does anyone have a matching pipe they would like to sell ?

Thanks  .. Ray

Is this the one from eBay with just the boiler and two mechanisms with cylinders?

All of these pieces are available, but they have to be cast up.  I think I got the last forward sand dome at OSW, but the master exists.

I am looking for a boiler barrel, but since I can make them, I am probably not willing to go as far as today's market seems to have gone.

The tender is a semi- challenge - most sides were annealed, which means they are almost all damaged.  I have one original side that I use for rivet patterns, and am willing to share a tracing.

That's the one but I'm only using the chassis.

I have a complete Challenger boiler and cab that I picked up about two years ago, that has all the domes and most everything else on it.

The seller included most of the steam tubes, valve and side rods and brackets with the chassis.

At a quick inspection, I seem to be missing  this one steam supply tube, a few of the trunion link brackets, 2-reverse link, 1-crosshead & guide and the rear trailing truck.

The boiler and cab are all packed away in preparation of us moving soon so I'm sure I'll find other things that are missing once I start putting this back together.

Is the tender that was used on the Challenger the same as they used on the Bigboy ?

If so, then I have a brass tender for it.

Looking thru old photos of some of the Challenger engines, they seemed to have used a variety of tenders with these locomotives.

I just did a quick look through my parts.  I don't have any of those genuine Lobaugh steam lines but I do have the PSC parts that can be used to fabricate the part.  I may have some of the other stuff.  I ahall do a better inventory soon.

On the Jabelmann Challenger they only used the centipede tender.  The coal and oil versions differ only where the coal goes, not the sides.  The FEF tender was slightly different.

I appreciate your offer of parts and I'm sorry if I misled you here, but The only part that I was concerned about at this time was the cast brass "Lobaugh" steam supply tube.

Flanger let me know that the matching cast steam pipe is available from Stevenson Preservation Lines.

I'm not going to buy any parts until I get everything un-packed and get a final tally of just exactly what is missing.

Also Thank you for the information on the tenders.

I plan on using the brass centipede tender that I have for this Challenger once I get it built.

Possible but I'm not sure.

All my train parts have been packed away since last fall in preparation for moving.

The only thing I kept out are the tools and supplies for making buildings so I still had something to work on this winter.

Did you sell one like that on ebay a year or two ago ?

If so, than it could be the one I bought.

I've been stocking up on train parts and packing them away for future building projects, so it's hard to remember just what I have.
