Need info on early 2332 GG1

The GG-1 trucks can get tweaked, new and old. Is that it? Or is it hanging up/tilting because the washer isnt leveling things?

Black or Brunswick?  Silver striped?  

 You do know those early ones can be a pricey prize don't you?

Look for loose screws on sideframes etc. (if) .   I loosen then tweak flat and retighten, check, then do it agian if needed, but tweaked past that then tightened till I got it flat. If peened you might have to knock the heads around to flaten it. If that were to fail and loosen, repairs with screws might be needed though.  When tweaking, you dont really want to stress the peeaned heads

That or you need bushings on the driver axles.

The assembly is pretty much universal in the small ones. I use a number of washers and downforce springs  taylored to the running characteristics of each Ive had. I don't even think I have the same setup on each end on my kline.

Here’s a photo of my 2332 motor and drive, you can see the brass spacer and you need the correct shoulder screw so everything lines up.

On the earliest 2332's the motor mount boss cast with the cab was a bit too short.  This caused the cab to lean towards the motor end and also caused some interference with the cab and the top of the e unit.  Lionel installed a brass spacer/washer between the cab boss and the threaded attachment point on the e unit/motor mount bracket.

I only have one such 2332, an early black one.  My other 2332's have the correct length boss and thusly no spacer/washer.
