I have a 6-12847 ice station which has stopped working. The problem is that there is a belt that drives the worm gear from the can motor. Of course the part is listed as unavailable from Lionel.Any ideas where I might find a suitable belt?

Not sure what it looks like, but can you use a o-ring in its place? Ace hardware has a nice selection of o-rings in the plumbing dept.

I used a diesel traction tire for mine, and it's lasted longer than the original belt.

Chuck Thanks for that . I could not find the 12847 in their online catalog so I used the another version. I tried a different search today and this time got the parts list and diagram for the 12847. It all depends on how one searches. However, the parts list does not list the belt only the entire motor and gear assembly. How did you find the part number?
