Hello all, I am in need of someone within 20 or 25 miles of Beecher, Illinois (a small mostly rural town just south of Crete and northeast of Kankakee) that has a layout and TMCC. I bought a train I have wanted for years, an MTH Burlington Zepher at a swap meet at Amish Acres last year. I am just recently able to run O gauge trains on my layout and I have MTHDCS. This train did not respond at all to my MTH system. I reported in another post that when I opened up the loco, inside the boards are TAS and Lionel. Somone has changed them. I would like to hear and see this loco run under digital control to be sure it is ok before I spend the money for TMCC. It runs great on my transformer AC. My email is in my profile and I posted pictures of the boards in the tinplate forum a few days ago. My rail friends have S gauge and the hobby shops in Griffith in and Crown Point do not have TMCC. I thank you for any help in advance.

What is the product number? So you have an MTH Zephyr in which someone added TAS boards in place of the Protosound or DCS board? (If your S friends have TMCC just bring some track there and use their unit.)
Hello BobbyD, No body I know with S gauge uses TMCC. They run their trains with a transformer, not digital. Some prior owner pulled all the MTH boards out and used Lionel and TAS boards. Installation looks good, train runs well on AC.No burn to smell or see but I'd like to hear the sounds, etc. before I invest in adding to my MTH DCS. Thank You.
I know there are a ton of O gaugers in the Chicago area, including plenty of forum members, so hopefully one of them will see your post.
If you’re willing to make a 140-mile trip, you could consider a visit to the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club in New Berlin, WI. It would be worth a visit just to experience the club setting and it’s ability to operate 17 trains at once. While you’re there, you could test your locomotive on TMCC. The club is open Friday afternoons during the summer and also weekends in the fall, winter and early spring.
Obviously, it would make more sense to stay close to home for a simple test of your locomotive, but I’m just throwing out the idea just in case you’re interested in a road trip in general with fun and trains in mind.
The club in New Lenox has open house days and more than likely will be able to help you. John in Lansing, ILL
Hello and THANK YOU to Rattler21 and Jim R. Both good ideas.
