The yard is huge. When you look at the room picture, it fits in the room space nicely. probably something that can't be moved on the other side of the wall.
Unfortunately on the other side of that 7 foot wall is the laundry room. What about if the yard came off the other circle. Like if it started bottom right and went right to left, essentially in the same spot at in the other design you did?
Just stick it out towards the open space? The 4' width won't work. It will most likely touch the left curve and block the aisle.
Oh well, worth a shot.

I guess you can't put it off the initial switch track?
If Carl does what you say then you will have a duck-under layout, which you didn't want?

The yard invades the unavailable space by 2' and 4' and only leaves 12" to get into the layout.

Nice Carl, my waist couldn't do 12" maybe my 10 year old could fit. I like the new layout design regardless.
Ok, back to the drawing board. I am almost done with my basement so it is almost time to get started on the layout. This was another idea I had instead of the ideas about. I was thinking around the room, with a lift up section on the left side. Ive never done one before but I think I would like to try. The yard would then be diagonal across the middle. I am considering a second level as well, but that would be separate track. For now I just want to get the main level design ready.
If someone can help me out and put this on scarm and post the results in here that would be great. I am using Lionel Fastrack, and with the 2 main lines I would like to use O72 as the inner mainline and O84 as the outer main line. I have about 9-10 Left O72 switches and 9-10 O72 Right switches, as well as I think 6-7 Wye O72 switches right now.
Also, any input would be greatly appreciated too. See the picture for a general idea of what I am thinking of doing.
