We just posted and update firmware file to update the new WIFI TIU's. You can download it here: https://www.mthtrains.com/dcs-software-downloads .
This update will correct problems found using various power supplies. Also it will correct communication problems when using more than 1 AIU (Accessory Interface Unit).
You will find the instructions how to update your TIU here: https://d2frr7198pxftr.cloudfront.net/.../DCS%20WTIU...

Tried updating, app says my WTIU is up to date.

Use the LuCi interface.

I did this by looking up the IP of my WTIU in my home router list of clients. Then use a web browser to that IP.

The IP listed in the instructions is when the WTIU is in MTH mode- then the 143.1 is valid, but on your home network, the LuCi interface is at the IP it got from your home router.

I use a program from NIRSOFT called Wireless Network Watcher. It will scan the entire IP range of your home network and list the host names. Look for the one with "mthdcs-xxxx" to identify the IP address assigned to the WTIU.

I installed the update using LuCi from my smartphone setting the WTIU in the MTH switch position and following the instruction.  By all indicators, it seemed to install correctly.

But...

Putting the WTIU back in the HOME position (to run via the home LAN), I could not get my PS3 engine to reliably work even removing the BASE3 signal. Sometimes I was able to get full control of the engine; sometimes I lost it. Engine volume was flaky.

I'll try with another PS3 engine, or run using the MTH network (rather than house LAN), but I probably made a mistake installing this update until others had a chance to fully check it out. The problems I experienced might just be unique to my specific layout and engine.

I just updated the firmware on my WTIU without any problems. Below is a comprehensive overview of the process:

I checked the current version of the Firmware from both the DCS App and the LuCi web interface:
DCS APP:   I also attempted to update the firmware through the app and it said the WTIU was up to date.

Luci Web interface:

In the LuCi Web interface, Click on the "System" drop-down menu and click on "Backup / Flash Firmware"

Now click on "Flash image..."

Click on browse, select the location and downloaded file from the MTH website:

Click the "Upload" button:

You'll receive a status bar showing the upload (this will go fast):

You'll receive this confirmation box. Don't change any of the options selected or unselected and click on "Continue":

now this notice will pop up briefly but heed its warning. (I wish it would stay up longer):

At this point my WTIU rebooted and my browser took me back to the LuCi homepage. It was obviously not showing correct data as the device was still rebooting:

I waited a FULL TWO MINUTES (be patient here or you could become the owner of the new WTIU PAPER WEIGHT).

Eventually, my browser did pop up this message over the LuCi homepage, Click the "Log in..." button:

After logging into the LuCi web interface again I checked the firmware version:
DCS APP:

LuCi Web Interface:

UPDATE HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL!!!
