After chatting with Chris Lonero, I guess I should whet the appetites of everyone. I'm in the process of developing a new range of lead cast and painted O gauge railway figures, in the style of old Hornby figures. We will be releasing a good variety of sets of figures, including passengers, railway platform staff, and engine staff and maintenance workers. These will be beautifully presented, and made in Australia.

Will they be dressed in contemporary styles, or in the styles of the 1920s and earlier as we have come to know? This should be very exciting.
I'm not asking to be a stick in the mud. I used to have a good number of lead figures that I purchased prior to 1980 and enjoyed them very much. I had heard that tighter regulations on lead content caused companies to change the metal(s) they were using. Are these 100% lead? Are there barriers to import?
look forward to seeing the samples.

It would be wonderful if they would produce affordable, period correct correct figures that could be used in the MTH Orient Express passenger cars and some of their other European offerings. I know that we had discussed this in the past regarding MTH producing them, but it has been 2 years since the crocodile was announced and we're still waiting for that too.

Eric, our figures are meant for toy tinplate designs. I also would love correct figures for the Orient Express. I run a few of the passenger sets and occupied carriages would be way better. Having said that, I think Prieser have period figures for platform settings.
Hello Dave; Look forward to these. I'm presently using lead/metal 54mm figures. I have a tinplate layout I'm working on, so 54s work but these will be a lot more suitable. I love the nostagic look of lead figures as seen in the old hornby layouts. I'm not particularly concerned about the use of lead and I'm not planing on eating it. Hope this project goes forward. thanks, wayne
Great news Dave. Now when are you going to Have Chris Miller make one of these cool signs?
They will be copies of the old figures, dressed as they were, early 20th century.
Thank goodness! I'm looking forward to this for sure. Perfect for the Dorfan, Ives and Lionel decorated prewar style tinplate layout. Ok Dave, you've baited the hook on this one.
Dave, I didn't intend to hijack your figure announcement with my request for sitting passenger figures. I need to pay more attention to which forum I'm looking at, but that said, we are about to start construction of a tinplate layout and your new figures will no doubt find a home. I wish you continued success.

Nice idea Chris. I sell Miller signs here and just got my latest order yesterday. I don't think I could sell enough to make it viable though.
I will ask Chris what his minimum runs are, you never know.

Chris says his minimum run is 500. That's too big for me at the moment. Anyway, I think the figures will be very popular.
