Fresh off the UPS truck from Pat's. Look great! Maybe this will motivate me to finish the work on the basement room & get a loop of track back up & running.
Hadn't seen other E8 posts yet, so I figured I'd start.

FRIDGE56VET,
They look great, good luck with them. Now make a video and post it quickly.

The Engines look great!
Mine arrive this week... Thanks for Posting...
I see Lionel messed up again...the cardboard under the trucks are not prototypical!
Seriously though they look great. I agree with the above to post a video ASAP. I almost ordered the PRR Versions. In hindsight with the Polar in this catalog I'm glad I passed.
Looks like a fine engine though all the versions I have seen with silver trucks also had silver screens. Just sayin'.
Pete
I love your loco's and I ordered the Pennsy version and I hope I get them soon!!!
Pete - IIRC the screens are silver (had to box up to smuggle into the house, Can't quickly double check), they just looks gray in the photo.
MARTYE - Yeah, thankfully the only Polar I need is the black engine & combi.
Video is unfortunately gonna have to wait, as everything's disassembled in the basement, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the comments so far!
Thanks for posting! Now I have a good reason to hope that my PRR version won't be far behind.
Looks great! Just got the e-mail today that mine are in.

Great looking model! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy your locos!
Whatever happened to the Atlantic Coast Line E8s?
The PRR, NYC and L&N are here - just arrived - and I have extras of each. One Conrail OCS too.... The last B&N left a few minutes ago.... Still $100 off MSRP.
Mr. Muffin told me my NYC E8's are on their way !
Could we see a video of some?
Could we see a video of some?
I will this weekend..... want to get the L&N out too....
That PRR is beautiful!

Yes they are!
Mine are on their way from Legacy Station. Will post a picture when they arrive.
A couple of my posts appear to have been deleted. Hope no one was offended by my admittedly off-topic pro-Purdue Boilermaker post. Apologies if so.
Also thanks to CentralFan1976 for the picture of a souvenir glass from the Boilermaker marathon in Utica NY. Being that I grew up 10 miles east of there it's always been a race on my bucket list. One day...

It’s funny because I always say two things... one; everyone’s from Central NY. (I’m from New Hartford, and live in Rome)
Never apologize; it’s a sign of weakness. It’s a free country and as long as you can both give and take a joke, we’ll be good friends!
thanks, Doc!
(I wonder how many kids nowadays even know who Bunsen Honeydew was, or Alf, or Mr. Wizard, or any good TV actually is?)

I could have picked up NYCs last Thursday but didn’t have my CC on me. I wasn’t expecting them... I have the Dremel ready to go!
The E8’s are in and they look great! Yes our store is an hour west of Utica, so if you are in town for a future Boilmaker Race, stop in and check out us out.

Definitely will! Enjoyed meeting Tom L. down at York to purchase some of the estate items you are managing. Those in the Central NY area are lucky to have you all as a local hobby shop.
Yes... we are. Full service, to boot!
Thank you, JRJ!
Let us know when you have the videos ready.

Just got them today! Here's a quick video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTJD90tOj0s&t=28s
Have photos of the Conrail OCS E-8's shown up anywhere online?
I'm curious as to whether there is any shade/tint of blue in the paint scheme.
I am very pleased with my new Lionel 6-84088 New York Central E8 AA set. The engine programmed easily and runs smoothly. The gears were also lightly lubricated at the factory. The tower start up sequence has a slight New York accent, but it is not prominent like the Vision Line GG1s. They may use the same recordings on all of the new E8s. I will have to wait for the Pennsylvania E8s to arrive to know for certain. Now I am waiting for the Pennsylvania 21" passenger cars. My NYC Empire State 21" cars will travel behind the NYC E8s. I love passenger trains. Dim the lights and watch the trains travel the rails tripping lighted signals as they move around the layout.
Those NYCs certainly are handsome with the silver trucks and tanks!
Also, is it your color photo, or what's with the "odd" gray color of the units?
What "odd" gray?

Unless I'm looking for a very specific roadname, I'll ALWAYS choose a locomotive with the silver trucks over the black ones. The silver shows the detail MUCH better.
I've always been the opposite .... I really don't like silver trucks.
But, I think Fridge56's NYC units look awesome .... including those trucks.
Enjoy them.

The real ones weren’t.
There’s a Dremel for that...
Took some photos of my NYC version as well.
I preordered mine and got it 2 weeks ago. It’s an all around great engine and I’m very happy with it! Here is a video I took of it on my club’s layout.
Posting from my phone so I’m not sure how to embed it here.
