NEW Lionchief Plus 2.0 Rail Diesel Car Sets

I think there is another issue with the single RDC cars that were cataloged as well. I have on reservation the New Haven powered RDC1 (all passenger compartment). Here it the picture as cataloged:

Lionel used the RDC3 shell, with baggage and RPO compartments, which is the same power unit as in the 2-car sets. I understand the item may not be exactly as cataloged, but in my opinion this is a completely different model. The only reason I ordered the single unit was it was a powered RDC1, which MTH never produced, and which I imagine would be much more popular than a single RDC3.

I ordered the B&O single unit locomotive.  It has been delivered and runs well so far ... knock on wood. 

Greg - which shell does your single unit have, RDC1 (all passenger seats) or RDC3 (baggage and RPO doors)?

Frankly I was surprised they cataloged a dual motor unit with seats. At best, there could be only a thin row of seats on either side to accommodate the electronics, smoke units and motors. But what is the operational issue? Could anyone shed light on that? Much Appreciation!

I'd love to see and hear a video.

Great catch C.Vigs. I have my eye on the NH #41 too. It's not a deal breaker, I am still very much considering picking one up, but like you pointed out, it's not the car that I saw pictured in the 2023 catalog.
