In an interesting twist, I can't save the PDF version. I can download it into Adobe and view all of it, but it gets an error when I try to save or print it. What's the purpose of having the PDF version if you can't save it?
That's absolutely the best MTH catalog that Lionel has ever put out. 
All kidding aside it is a great catalog.

I had to give it a minute to finish loading. The PDF is sent in chunks to the browser so you can start reading it, but it looks like some parts of it are being sent more slowly. The download button won't work until the whole thing loads.
I went to the last page in Adobe before I tried to save it, it had no issue seeing it.

Maybe the PDF was put together by the same crew that designed those crappy trucks... 😊

They now describe the ore cars as Standard O scale.
The ore cars being O scale seems to be unlikely, given how small they are.

I cleared all the Firefox temp files, and changed the behavior of PDF files to SAVE instead of OPEN IN Adobe, and I was able to save it. Could be something was corrupted, hard to say.
The Husky-Stack well car is finally being offered in the TRAILER TRAIN scheme.

No problems with saving .pdf using Mac OS Big Sur/Chrome. Probably a specific browser/preferences/settings issue as GRJ noted. I'll give Adobe this, .pdfs usually work with rare exception.

Well I was looking through the new catalog and got excited to see the 2-10-4 in SF but they dumped the cylinder cock steam so a little disappointed with that. Nice to see the Cab 2's will work with the new base 3.

Does that Base 3 device have any power wattage of its own, or is it just a multi-control center?
Art, nothing in the description suggests it provides any external power, other than the low power DC to the LCS connections.
There is a USB port, so that may potentially provide some low power, yes? Do not think there will be a conventional output at 5-10 amps if that is what Art is asking.
I would bet big money there isn't any 5-10 amp power source provided! However, the real guy to ask is obviously @Dave Olson.

There is no conventional output of the Base 3. You will control Powermasters, ZW-Ls, and ZW-Cs like you do now. If there were you would have a common and power output. There is just the "U" connection.

It's your browser. It won't let the fancy Lionel online viewer, which doesn't use PDF's, operate properly.
Downloading a PDF file directly from the link bypasses this Lionel viewer. The file goes directly to your PC's PDF viewer instead.

Thank you Mike. Do you know what it would take to repair the issue? I'm using DuckDuckGo. If it's a setting I'm willing to try it. Actually I also tried it with Google and I had the same issue.

Am I the only person that hates the "flip through the pages" format? Would much prefer to have something modern, faster loading, and SEARCHABLE.
Interesting topic. I remember a time when a new catalog post would be multiple pages long within 24 hours of it's release. Is the excitement gone? I know it is for me.

I think it is a fine catalogue and my goal, which is hard for me to achieve, is to refrain from buying anything. LOL
However, I do plan to visit my LHS soon.
Double wow! I found it a very interesting catalog from Lionel..gas electrics (what brand of the several prototypes do they most closely model? I researched that once but have forgotten...) Smaller RR's, TAG, for instance and pages and pages of accessories...which last l hope means this is not a dead hobby... Who got the MTH McKeen dies, IF they were sold off? Any hope of McKeen appearing in future catalog? Could not "put it down".. And a request for custom runs....
When Lionel started to bring out the Thrall well cars they were not scale and very under sized, is that still the case?

The first intermodal well cars that LIONEL produced were Traditional O gauge articulated Gunderson Maxi-Stack well cars.
The next intermodal well cars that LIONEL offered were O scale Gunderson All-Purpose Double-Stack well cars that were accidentally labeled as Gunderson's Husky-Stack well cars.
The O scale All-Purpose Double-Stack cars have wells were 3' shorter than the real dimensions, meaning that they carry 45' containers and trailers instead of 48' trailers and containers.

You can download a PDF from the "flip through the pages" window. Up at the top is a place to click that opens the auxiliary menu, then click on the download icon, as seen below, in order to open a PDF download dialog box.
BTW -- You're not going to get it fast no matter what you do. It's a high-quality, hence VERY big, file.

It says the Dash 8 is only 10.5 inches long. That seems like a misprint or else the thing is cartoonishly proportioned. Any thoughts?

I do not think that any McKeen tooling was created. After it was announced, only about twenty-five or so pre-orders were received (according to one of our forumites); that surely would not be enough to start "carving metal".
Has anyone actually seen the paper catalog yet. The image on the website doesn't exactly look like it's 200+ pages...
It’s about 100 pages. As reported the next Hundred pages of traditional O Gauge Rr in sets is only in the online version.

If it’s the former MTH RailKing Dash 8, it’s undersized to run on O27/O31 curves.

Okay thanks. Misprint. The MTH one was listed at 14.5 inches long.
There was a RailKing Rugged Rails DASH 8 model that was undersized.

The short DASH 8 is the Rugged Rails DASH 8 locomotive model.
It is proportioned for the Traditional O gauge sized freight cars.

I hope that this hasn't already been discussed but am I the only one that is disappointed in the Vision Line Class A.
What is Vision Line about this engine.
Looks like the same Class A to me.
IMHO all Vision Line engines should include as standard
Smoke from the stack, blow down, steam whistle and last but not lease, cylinder steam smoke.
They had plenty to add the blow down and cylinder steam (like they have on the new VL SP GS 4-8-4's (cylinder steam).
What is your opinion?
