A while back I did some work for @Mark V. Spadaro on his MTH Spotlight car. His favorite car was not working. He wanted me to take the good equipment from a good Union Pacific spotlight car and install it on his Conrail spotlight car.
He let me keep the UP depressed flat car. I did not know what I wanted to do with it, so I just started messing with it a little bit in between projects. After a repaint, decals and some weathering, I needed a load to put on it.
My other passion is aviation. So, I thought it appropriate to make the load a couple of Allison T56 Engines.
I purchased the engine kit and then scratch built the engine stands off of some pics I found on the web. I made a parts kit box out of scrap balsa and styrene for the well of the car and tied everything down with chain, which is really jewelry from Michaels.
Here was the result.
