I got the bug 2 weeks ago to purchase my first MTH engine. My 4yr old told me we should get this one because "it looks cool". I am going to have to learn how to get my dcs system up and installed so that I can get his thing rolling and see how it sounds. I have know knowledge of the european rails, but really thought it would be neat to have one modern engine and rolling stock run through northern Wisconsin. I got a gondola and a beer car with this from cctrains, and have 3 tank cars and a box car coming from Naussa. Once i get them all together I will take some more pics and try and figure out how to post video. (sorry on some of the photo's, some my fault not knowing the camera the other fault is me being tired) Derek

Derek,
Did you see that your "cool looking" engine is a female and is named "Christine" (see on the very far left side of the engine). MTH made three different numbers with three different names. Besides "Christine" there is "Jana" and "Adrianna". Just in case you want another one make sure you get a different name. I'm getting one or maybe two of these myself and I like Jana and Christine.

Regards,
That is a very sharp loco! You don't have to wait for your DCS, you can run it conventionally, just make sure that, if it is equipped with switches for 2 or 3 rail, that it is toward 3 rail, and the other switch is marked "DCS" or "polarity, that it is toward "DCS". If no switches, put it on the track and have fun. Be sure to share your pictures with the complete train, when you are able. Very nice.
