New old stock 6-18278 Directional light problem

Hi Have a question for anyone that can help.6-18278 u30c engine.for some reason when engine going forward rear headlight is on and going reverse front headlight is on.and idea how to fix.maybe reprogramming it.any information would be greatly appreciated. You can find my email in my profile.
