I just started a project to add some tanks and distillation towers to an existing oil facility on a customers layout. Here are some pictures of the items being constructed.

Absolutely stunning work, Alan!
Hmm, I wonder where those are heading!!! Looking great as usual
You hit the nail on the head Mr. Ewing
I bet laying out those steps on the side of the tank was a chore. Looks great tho.
Where do you find the steps , ladders, and pipes for these-- or are they all scratch built?
The tanks are constructed from .020 inch thick styrene sheets. The stairs are cut from .030 inch thick styrene sheets. The stair posts are .060 inch thick styrene square bars. The stairs are installed when the sheets are flat. I will post more pictures.
Always amazing work. Thanks Alan.
Wow! That really is awesome work!

Beautiful!! Those are amazing!! I don't know how I missed this thread before.
Great work Alan. I wish I could be as talented as you.
Alan, once again you modelling talents, especially in regard to tanks, refineries and chemical processing plants leaves me in awe.
Thank you very much fellas. I am glad you like the structures. Tanks are my favorite thing to construct.
Alan, outstanding as usual!! Mr Ewing has his crew preparing the property for the new additions, I noticed a lot of bulldozers and earth movers on the site yesterday!!
Beautiful work. Impressive!
That is awesome Mr James.
That's just incredible. I'm building a steel mill but this is what I'm aiming for.
I'm speechless! I am without speech!
Alan - what do you use for decals?
Joe
Awesome Alan
That is amazing work!
Billy, Erik and Artie,
Thank you very much.
Joe,
I will print out “ images of Ewing Oil logos” on photo paper and glue onto the models with CA glue.
Alan, all of your structures are amazing.
Tom
Looks great!!!!!
Alan,
Great work. Thanks for sharing.
These are for customers right? How do you pack, transport or ship without damage? Do you fabricate your own packing container as well?
Ron
This man does great work on everything he touches but anything related to oil...knocked out of the park every time and the ball can't be found.
Dave
Tom,
Thank you.
Mr. James,
Your opinion really counts on this one.
Ron,
In this case I think the models will be picked up. Usually I single or double box and use styrofoam peanuts. Sometimes I think if an item can move around a little it is less apt to shock damage.
David,
I thank you. When I am building the models and putting on the stairways I can here the sounds of the 1/4 scale men walking up them.
