a nicely matched No.50 series set is a great(!) find. not sure if it's correct for any set, but i have a #5 (Ives) clockwork locomotive pulling my set (i have an additional flat car).
cheers...gary

Thanks Guys...
l made an offer on a Lionel on a Standard Guage Lionel 390-E, operator quality, from the fellow l picked up the Ives and Marx from. He has it on consignment in his shop. He going to check with the widow who has it on consignment with him if my offer is acceptable.Me in front of my friends shop, waiting for the Mardi Gras Parade.

complete... a bold statement to make when referring to Marx.
just curious, but how many do you think that is?
I'd guess six base designs, The two M-s , the CV, the Merc, Small carbody, large carbody.
JD,
If Roy is still alive and somebody else is not running the Train Shop, tell Roy Dave B from Slidell, LA says hello, and I hope things are well at home.

Yes Roy is stiil operating the shop. moved from downtown location to the north side on Polk. He got rid of all the non train hobby stuff & sells and rents golf carts to folks visiting Jefferson & don't want to walk around.

We talked about that last night on the chat, and the CV, MERCURY, M10000 & M10005 are considered the streamliners (locomotives), not including the modern E/F style diesmals....
DJ,
Sounds like Roy is doing just fine, tell him I still have the Trains he sold me. They all still work great. Hope the new store is even better than the old one downtown. Nice to see that he is still in business.

The shop is a much smaller place, but Roys' happy with it.
Not sure if you are aware, his wife had a stroke this past year,
she is better, but Roys is at her beck & call.
BTW, if you know of anyone within a days road trip, Roy has a group of Standard Guage Tin Plate Tradition, repops on consignment. I'll post some pix when I go over this week.
