New to me PW 2031 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

One of the things I enjoy about our hobby is getting new to me equipment and servicing. I got a PW 2031 UP ALCO AA off the bay a few weeks ago and serviced the power unit. I just wanted to share what worn pinion gears look like. With the wheel puller and press with the wheel cups it went quickly.

I think you meant a 2023 UP ALCO. The 2031 was a Rock Island which had a black frame with a white stripe.

I dig the servicing and tinkering too - without that I'm not sure I'd be nearly as into the hobby.

I picked up 2032 Erie Alcos this summer. Great quality and fantastic runners/pullers.

They had tons of hours on 'em but gears were fine though.
