As the title suggests, this video has nothing but (25) MTH "High Cube" boxcars. The consist is pulled by Lionel power. UP SD70Ace's and KCS ES44AC. Bringing up the markers is a Lionel CA-4 caboose.

Fantastic, well done. This also gave me a new product idea. While we all considerate on head end sound, we need a box/passenger car with passing rail sounds as the train goes by, MTH has the passing sound engine driven, but a freight/passenger car with the clickety-clack sound would be great.

Thanks! I agree, the sounds of the freight cars would be great. I use a high definition type microphone when I record, which picks up a lot of the wheel noise on the tracks.

You bet, Donald!  I have watched several of your videos on Youtube and enjoy seeing the MTH-Atlas Premier high cubes.  I have 94 (12 are Atlas) of them that I have collected so far.  I have four more Atlas high cubes  on order  from the last catalog.  I would have liked to have bought the NS 3 car heritage set that you have but I didn’t know about them until after they had been released.

Hello Larry. Thanks for watching my videos. Much appreciated. The “High cubes” are one of my favorite freight cars. The NS set is especially nice. Yes, they went quickly. I have found you need to preorder or the minute the cars are available, jump on them for a purchase. I am amazed how quickly the secondary market inflates the MSRP just a week or two after issue.

The video I referenced had 45 cars. That is about the limit for just head end power. Maybe next time, I will add a set of helpers and add a bunch more!

Enjoy collecting the cars. And thanks again for watching my videos.

I sure do agree with you on the price of them going up on the secondary market!!  I used to buy a lot from Trainz.com because their prices were reasonable but even they have joined in on the high over pricing of certain cars.  I used to look for the Coe Rail 50’ high cube but gave up on trying to find one.  Even if one came up on an auction site or at Trainz, I am certainly not going to pay their $150+ asking price.  I sure would like Atlas to produce some in the COER or WRWK reporting marks.  I see quite a few of the real ones in the YouTube real train videos.  I also have a collection of MTH-Atlas all door boxcars.

Hey Larry. I agree with all you wrote. It is a good thing that Atlas / MTH is bringing back the 50’ high cubes. Just buy as soon as they are released! I am also a fan of the all door cars. I will admit that MTH made some pretty cool and unique cars. I am glad Atlas is keeping the line moving forward.
