I have a lot of these D56 buildings side-by-side with my Grand Central Station and they look great together. The Department 56 collection to search for is called: "Christmas in the City"

The Dept 56 Christmas in the City buildings, although a bit pricy, are very nice.  I have just received my Chrysler Building and it is a great addition.  I placed mine off in the distance of my layout for a distance effect since these are obviously not o scale.

BTW I am looking for the Dept 56 Empire State Building and Flatiron building.  Anyone looking to part with one or can point me to a source that has one?

Many of the Ameritown building fronts have styles that look like older, lower-rise buildings in New York City, and are quite easy to convert.  I'm currently using some with Evergreen/Plastruk added to bash into the building below, 32 W 56th Street.  Until recently it had the facade shown in the photos, below, harkening back to H. Rider Haggard's book, She and Leo McKern's nickname for his wife in the Rumpole of the Bailey TV series.  I understand the building recently changed hands and the new owner removed the shield and titles - but not on my layout.
