Last weekend was chock full of train fun as 6 members of the New Jersey HiRailers came to visit. We had a great time running trains here in Dedham on Friday afternoon then went to Mansfield MA to Dave Connolly's. Dave is also a Forum guy, who has a great basement layout and he models the New York Central. His workmanship is fantastic. His wife, Denise, shares his enthusiasm and has her own trains. Of course, we all went to the Amherst Model RR Show in Springfield at the Big E the next day.

Thank you, Dave and Denise for opening your house and layout to us, and thank you Ben Fioriello, Vinny Riccio, John Eckrote, Bob DeGuarde, Gerry Morlitz and Alex Malliae for coming up to visit.

Ben brought us a special addition to "The Wall of Trains", a piece of graffiti to go behind Santa. (Notice it has his name on it)

It was such a great weekend, first we went to Marty's house and had a great time running trains, then it was off to Dave C house to see his gorgeous layout. Thank you Marty, Dotty, Dave, and Denise for such a great time.  Then the next two days was the Big E train show, it was my first time attending this show. I must say it was one of the best train shows i ever attended. It will be on my list from now on.

Thanks,

Alex

The Big E is one of my favorite shows  Lots to see.  We always stop by somebodies layout on the way.  This year we stopped to see Marty, Dotty and Ralph's layout first.  They are some of the best people in this hobby.  We then went to see Dave C's layout in near Foxboro ( Yes Ted they let the Jet fan in even though there was more Patriots stuff in Daves house than Marty's)

Dave's layout is AMAZING.  Everything is based on the Boston & Albany railroad in the late 40's early 50's  His weathering and modeling skills are awesome.  I would suggest OGR do a spread on his layout  I was verrrry impressed.  Dave and Denise were very gracious hosts and I want to thank them very much for allowing Jets fans into the house
