We had a great time today running Trains, talking Trains & related issues followed by another knockout luncheon made by my wife. Thanks guys for making the trip to Rhode Island. You guys are welcome anytime.

As always, Captain John and his wife outdid themselves. Good to see Mike Caruso and Gerry Morlitz, also. Going to post a few pix of John's newest endeavors. He's been busy, and he's contributing to job security for Menard's employees.
Morton Salt in front of the Ralston Purina plant
American Power and Light
JMX World Headquarters with Starbucks on the ground floor
York Hotel, which hasn't been moved to it's permanent location yet.
Patiently waiting for the food.
And we only made a small dent in it. We all would have eaten more if we could have. (As well as a great chopped salad, with 2 kinds of pie and other goodies for dessert)
John and Marion, Thank you, again.

John, your layout is even better than I remembered it. I had a really great time and got a couple of new ideas for my layout. Which I hope to do sooner rather than later. Sometimes you just need a little motivation to get started.
It was great to see the trains run, and you inspired me to take out my 844 FEF and run it. Not only that, but Marty taught us what the name stands for. Talk about feeling stupid.
Talking to Marty about trains is sort of like being in first grade, having a blank slate for a mind and Einstein as a teacher. I now have an easy fix for my Veranda and learned a lot about the history of DCS.
Marion's lunch was the gold standard. I may not eat for another week. Really great.
A TRULY wonderful day. Thank you.
Gerry
Nice get together. Lots of current Menards buildings and trains.
Looks like a great time. How does a New Englander like me join the NJ HiRailers? I was born in NJ.........does that count for something?

You don’t have to be from NJ. John. You can be an associate member like myself Marty and John are. You can get in touch with Gerry Morlitz he will take care of you. Whish I could have made it to the gathering today but I’m under some construction at my house and needed to be home. John has one of the best layouts I’ve seen and his wife is one of the best cooks I know! Bummer. Next time.
Many, many thanks to our wonderful hosts, John and Marion. Seeing the train layout itself was well worth the long car ride from the Metro New York area. But the terrific luncheon spread they offered us was an unexpected and well-appreciated bonus!! Dotty was right about the food....by the time I saw the dessert selection I was so sorry I had stuffed myself....but I did manage a big piece of pie. Just, you know, to be, ahem, polite.
Thanks again for inviting us into your home. You certainly did a great job with your layout.
John and Marion as always put on a great time. Great trains, great food, and super hosts. It does not get any better.
John, BLUECOMET 400) you would be a great addition. Contact Gerry and tell him John, Chris, and I speak for you.
Marty
Looks like all had a great time!
John, go to http://www.njhirailers.com/useful-links and download our Membership Application. You would be an Associate Member (not in our geographic region) and the dues would be $87.50. You can send the Membership Application with a check to me at Gerald Morlitz, c/o NJ HiRailers 185 Sixth Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07524. Among other things, that will allow you to attend Trainstock without paying the entry fee. I hope to meet you there.

Thanks Marty--I woke up this morning to find Gerry had already sent me an email; I'll get my application in soon.
John
You will like the guys and the layout. A great group.
Thanks guys for the kind words. My wife is amazing as she did all this with 1 leg while the other one was fractured and immobilized on a scooter.
John, I did order some of the Menards buildings you showed us. Thanks again.
