Hi, new here and thanks for letting me in!
Also new to model railroading. I'm building a room and I've found an MTH E8 engine and non-powered engine. The passenger cars though have been a nightmare to find.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to use Lionel NJ Transit on them to get it rolling but obviously I'd prefer the correct or closer to correct cars.

NJT Transit used many coaches from various railroads, behind the E8s. They were often old Budd built long distance coaches Some were still in their predecessor paint schemes (BN for example) and some were painted NJDOT or NJT.
There is a Facebook group about the NY&LB/ North Jersey Coastline that has many discussions and pictures of the NJT E8s pulling interesting consists. You might get some ideas from their site...

There are a few books about NJT out there that will give you some idea of coach consists. I have the MTH premier E8 but no matching coaches yet. Good pics are hard to find.
Atlas makes Comet II cars in NJT colors but the E8s didn’t pull those.

@Krieglok I found a site called mrmuffinstrains.com that has the Atlas options available for pre-order. I planned on getting on the phone with them tomorrow to get a better idea on their schedule.
