By now I would guess that everyone has seen the great paint schemes on the NS Heritage locomotives. Some are fantastic and some not so much. Here is my list of best to worst paint jobs on them. What are yours? #! Wabash, #2 Erie. #3 Central of Georgia, #4 Interstate, #5 Lackawanna, #6 Monogahela, #7 Lehigh Valley, #8 Southern, #9 Virginian, #10 Norfolk Southern, #11 Reading, #12 Norfolk & Western, #13 Nickel Plate, #14 Illinois Terminal, #15 Savanna & Atlanta, #16 Central of New Jersey, #17 Pennsylvania, #18 New York Central, #19 Conrail and #20,Penn Central. This is not a railroad popularity contest but a paint scheme contest. No prizes!

I don't see it as a contest. It's all good.

NS has successfully adapted the original paint schemes to fit contemporary locomotives.  Granted, my eye will find some units more pleasing than others, but that's more a result of my preferences in railroads, not in NS's execution of the paint.

My only criticism would be the Pennsy unit would have looked better in Brunswick Green rather than Tuscan, but that's just my opinion.

Now, if it NS did "interpretations" like the UP did, then there'd be a reason for a contest.
