O Line Reproduction Switches acting funny, Please help

Do they work OK w/o the controllers?

Switches sometimes light up, controllers sometimes light up. Once in a while the controllers work but just once and then won't switch back.

Make sure the insulating pins are in the right positions. They should be in the inner, short rails. Chattering is usually a signal that the switch is getting told to switch both ways at once. Disconnect the controllers and try pushing a car through them both ways. If that works the problem is how the controllers are connected.

I was able to find a photo of the RMT switch - funny - the turn control rail looks like it has a metal pin - yeah, check the insulating pins for the control rails

Thanks everyone for your comments. My son came over today and we solved the problem. It seems there was a factory error on the controllers-- LH controllers must have been packaged with 2 of the RH turnouts and a RH controller was packaged with one of the LH turnouts. I found this out by opening  5 of the "extra" switches I had bought new several years ago., and sure enough 2 of them had the wrong controllers. All work fine now, so I can get back to laying foam roadbed before doing final wiring.

So Gondolawillie what your saying is RH and LH controllers can not be swapped?. I have 8 of these that I'm going to use on my next layout. So I cant mix up the controllers?

Apparently not. Each controller has a tag marked LH or Rh on the bottom.

I have some K-line Supersnap switches and can verify that you cannot swap LH and RH controllers. My controllers are marked on the bottom as well.

I used toggle switches  with success. (Spring loaded). Mounted on control board, no leds bfor direction. Just tell which direction by leds on the switch. Original controllers are marked lh, rh,  but toggles work fine.
