Richard - I appreciate the weekly heads up on what is new.  I received the new spark '67 Z-28 I found while following up on your thread a week or so ago.  It is a very nice model: as it should have been for a first-issues Z-28, it looks identical to a full-house '67 RS: no external hints is RPO Z-28.  The chrome trim and interior and particular well done.  Nice model.

Here it is after just a bit of adjustment: Goo Gone took the racing strips off, a bit of careful cutting removed the '67's wing vent windows, so now it looks just like my first new car a 1968 Camaro RS 327 2bbl 4-speed with heavy duty suspension and brakes.  I wanted the Z28 but could not swing the price difference: RPO Z28 was only $400 more but it required another $250 worth of  options first and dealers would not even talk discount from list price, so it was far beyond my reach.   Eventually I spent another $400 and more on headers, a small 4 bbl and manifold and a mild cam and it was a fairly quick car for its day - very high 14s in the quarter mile on a good day, on street rubber.  I traded it in years later on a 4-door Cutlass - it was wife and kids time then, and it was exactly 30 years before I bought another new sporty car (a 1998 Z-28!).

Richard:  I already bought a couple of the '49 - '50 Ford coupes, but now that the 4-doors have been announced, I'll need to pick up a couple of those.  Back in their day, they were ubiquitous in their popularity.  As I mentioned before, my "select year" is 1950.  All vehicles, trains, peope dress, signs, building styles, are intended to capture that period of time.

i like the '70's and '80's cars, but can't, by my own standard, have them on the layout.  But, so far I've managed to collect and distribute around the layout some 180 cars, trucks and construction equipement.  Some Brooklyn, some Solido, some Franklin but mostly cheaper, $5 and $10 vehicles.
