I was shocked by the number of e-mails I got requesting info or asking if I would sell a few, when I posted about these small pink flamingos I ordered.  Seven after just one short post.  I replied to each one that I did not know the scale yet - just that they were small.  I've never had more than three or four e-mails on any post I made in just one day, so I figure many more people may have at least some interest.

They arrived yesterday and I installed some last night.  Perfect!

a) The are molded out of soft pink plastic, very flexible, almost rubbery.

b) With their base included they are 1 3/8 inch high (Photo 1).  With the base cut off and one leg inserted 1/8th in a small hole in the benchtop, to hold them up, they measure just over a scale four feet high.  Real pink flamingos come in sizes from 20" to70" so this fits - and looks good (Photo 2).

c) They come in a bag of 100 which cost $11 on Amazon, with shipping.  They can be had for less than $6 elsewhere (no free shipping though).

d) They are made as extra pieces - I think the equivalent of money or points - for a board game called Trailer Park Wars, or something.  I don't want to know the details!

They are easy to cut (as in slice the base off) but will not bend and stay - you can bend them but they gradually flex back to their original shape.

I am not going to show more of my trashy trailer park until it is done.  Here is the one home in the park where the owner is trying to keep a little bit of paradise and pride of place and hasn't just given up.  Still not done . . . . but at least the flamingoes are there.  With their good size (scale four feet) and bright color they successfully compete just enough with all the other things around them for the eyes' attention, so I really like their size a lot.

I was raised (1950's) in SW Florida and had a friend who's parents built a small hard luck trailer park.  I delivered newspapers to this park.  We had a friend named Emmie who lived with his Mom in a small aluminum trailer and she had 3 welded Flamingos in her front yard.

You've hit the mark...    How creative, how colorful, how authentic?  Great job!!

I have a pair of the full-size ones. I got them as a practical joke on the real estate agent who was helping me sell my house back in Virginia. She was coming over to discuss something or other and I put them right where they'd be in her face when she arrived. Sure enough, she fell for it and carefully counseled me that the lawn flamingos would NOT help me sell a house in an upscale neighborhood. You should have seen the look on her face. I still have them; they're mixed in with the cacti and desert plants in the back yard.

I have ordered a sheriff's car (not police, any self-respecting tacky trailer part would be outside the city line to avoid taxes and building requirements).  it  will arrive sometime next week I hope, and am working on figures, including a "perp" in a wife-beater shirt with tattoes - it will be hard to see them (and make them) but  . . . .  and I hope a wife shouting and pointing at him.

Who should the sheriff be?  Given I copy TV shows/movies, the ones that come to mind are Andy Griffith, Rod Stieger (Heat of the Night), or Tom Stimus (the cop from the Dodge Challenger ads way back when - "You're in a heap of trouble.")

Oh yes, redneck heaven this is.  But such taste: notice how the old car seat upholstery matches the chair and table bought at a discount from Western Auto.

and speaking of you might be a redneck jokes: I have of course used the greatest Jeff Foxworthy redneck joke in my trailer park ("If your truck is on blocks but your home is on wheels, you might . . . ") but I have promised myself that, before it is done, I will include my favorite ("If you have ever used an ironing board as a buffet table, you might be . . . ").
