I just finished converting two GPM models back to O gauge for a buyer who did not want P48.  It took only 1:45 per loco.  The most time-consuming task is attaching the power reverse linkage to the driver axle.  The cylinders are a little wider than the prototype but it isn't really that easy to pick up.

I did cut down a Sunset SP P-8 cylinder saddle.  It took a while.  I had the first one done by a friend and the second I did myself after seeing how he did it.  That is more time-consuming but it is a huge improvement over the thee-rail dimensions of the width.  I believe I cut about .090" total to get it to match the SP drawings.

You have 3 rail and 3 rail scale, thus 2 rail scale and 2 rail P48. Try it and see if it flies. Everything else under the sun is covered, so why not this one. If it just sits there then 86 it. There are obviously some P48ers that are members here.

Just don't ask for a DOORSTOP forum!

I don't think that's it. While they do take their modeling seriously, there may not be enough of them to support a forum.  Check out OST, where they have a dedicated section.  Not much going on.  Why would a serious P-48er want to go to multiple seldom-used forums?

I am in 17/64 scale.  That is only slightly more obscure than P-48.  Nobody wants to yak about 17/64.
