Are there replacements for both the screw base and bayonet base lamps/bulbs that have a higher rating than 16 volts ?

I have not had any issues with using the stock 1445 & 1447 in the switch and 432R/G in the switch controllers.
Some suggest success using 2445/2447 and 2432R/G bulb which are rated at 24 volts.

I could not find the 2434 R/G bulbs on Town & Country's site.
Are there any other suppliers of lamps for O22 switches and the O22 controllers ? Town & Country Hobbies does not take AMEX or Paypal.
Dan, the lamps are generally common small bulb lamps that can be had from auto parts stores, online retailers, industrial suppliers and such.
eBay takes paypal - here are some sample listings just by searching the bulb number + bulb:

You could try Miniature Lamp Works,

I do not know what form of payment they take. I print out their order form and mail it to them with a check.

Actually both 1445 and 432 bulbs are rated for 18 volts. What voltage are you running your 022's at? Higher than this?
if you have long wire runs to your controllers (causing sluggish action) you may want to try converting the longer ones to 3 conductor #18 awg thermostat wire. Standard FC3 wire is only #22 awg and has serious voltage losses for runs over 15-20 ft or more.

If you are using the 20 volt accessory terminals of a KW, that is too high for 022's IMO. You should maybe use something more like 16 volts.

I think 14 volts should make any well maintained 022 work with ease.
I'm somewhere around 16 volts, maybe a just a touch more. I have older O22s that seem to need more muscle. I have a bunch of 24 volt lamps coming. The lantern covers were melting.....LOL
I just finished cleaning a pair of 022 switches. When starting out the switches took 18 volts to get any where near a full throw. I cleaned the 4 contact points by putting a drop of labelle 108 on each contact plate and worked the switch back and forth to clean the dirt off the points. After that I put a doubled over piece of paper towel between the points and contact plates and again worked the mechanism back and forth till no more dirt came off the points. One set needed a light adjustment of the points to work consistantly. After this the switch motors were still a little tight. I then sprayed the swivel that holds the lamp housing with Deoxit-D5. Worked the mechanism back and forth again and cleaned up all the excess with Q-tips until there was no more Deoxit-D5 residue showing anywhere on the mechanism. I could have used the Deoxit on the points also but had it downstairs at the sink at the time so just used the 108 on the points. After all was done the switches now throw at 14 volts with ease. At 12 volts they were just a little slow. You can also use the D5 on the switch point swivel pin also if it is a little sticky. It took about an hour on each one but the results were worth it. While the switches were apart I took the time to wash the switch track with hot soapy water and dried with a hair dyer. Also polished the rails with a Dremel fiber wheel. A dirty sluggish pair of 022's now look great and throw almost like new.
Of course you could just jack up the voltage and put higher voltage bulbs in them until they quit working or melt the switch lanterns.
Forest.
After changing the lamps in the switch lanterns and the controllers, to 24 V, they now burn quite a bit cooler.

Thanks, John.
Also, ordered the #432's screw base (E10 base) for older 022's. 50 cents is a lot better than train shows 2 bucks apiece!
