Same goes for ACY (Akron Canton Youngstown).
Now that you brought it up, generally speaking , I find many items difficult to find. With the bazillon items that MTH sells, you'd think that finding these items in the secondary market would be a bit more frequent.
Oh well...the hunt continues
Thanks.

I have several Ohio Central items--including an RMT BEEP and MTH caboose--as well as an ACY RS diesel by MTH. The items for these roads are few and far between, but there are some out there.
Not knowing the Ohio central roster. If the demand is there Weaver would do a GP38-2 or RS3. Atlas is continually doing SW's in regionals. Get on the list with either.
Modern Regionals wouldn't necessarily have rolling stock of their own other than MOW. IMO.

I've searched for OC stuff from MTH in the past, and like the others have said, it's tough to find. I would be interested in anything new that companies are putting out.
I saw the Weaver model (pictured above) at the OGR tour this past October, and it is gorgeous (wish I had room in my budget for one).
Another avenue would be to have some OC equipment custom painted. They wouldn't be "collectible" originals, but you would at least have them to run and/or display.

Yep, neat place for MTH and Atlas stuff. I get out there every few months.

From the Third Rail website.
There appears to be (2) for sale.Ohio Central U-3B one three rail, one two rail.
MTH makes more stuff than any other O Gauge company, but also produces some items in some of the most limited quantities.
In 2006, in MTH's volume 2 catalog, 20-2667-1 - an Ohio Central SD40-2. There is one left. I just found it using MTH's product locator; and it shows - Hobby House, Hendersonville, NC.
BTW, I have this MTH Premier model, and it has a handsome livery. Wearing maroon, grey and yellow.

OHCR has former Burlington Northern Thrall Car ribbed coal gondolas. It would be great if the Thrall Car ribbed coal gondolas were produced by Weaver Models.
If an OHCR 50' modern box car were made for the RailKing line it would have to have a large Ohio Central logo added.
The (former K-Line) Evans Products Covered Coil Car would be great to have in both the original Grand Trunk Western scheme and the Ohio Central scheme.

Wouldn't mind some Ohio Central stuff if I ever add modern stuff to the collection.

If you want it from MTH, the best thing to do is ask and keep asking.
That's good advice. I wrote (emailed) MTH that I would like to see a CSX GP38. I gave my feeble reasoning of that is what is typically used in bringing coal out of the hollers of West Virginia. Once it hits the mainline it's then taken over by the larger units.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see CSX GP38's in the 2012 catalog. With the dream of modeling those branch lines up into the hollers, I've pre-ordered(for the first time) those units.
So, yes, let MTH know what you'd like to see and why. I believe they have a link on their site to express your ideas. I believe they do listen.

I know I'm not the only one out their asking for certain items, but several freight cars I've asked for the last couple years have found their way into the line up - The Detroit & Toledo Shore Line DD Boxcar, and most recently the forthcoming Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo boxcar. I realize they are RK and alot of folks are all for the scale stuff, but they do listen, but the name of the game seems to be pre-order...even for Rail King stuff.

Speaking of Akron Canton & Youngstown, MTH is doing a Covered Hopper in two roadnumbers. I pre-ordered both from Jason's Train Shop.
Good luck with your hunt! I found the hunt to be half of the fun.
For anyone looking for the Ohio Central flat with cruisers, Grahams Trains has it.

Moody St Trains in Columbus has several Ohio Central items in stock. Better get there quick before they are gone!

A couple months ago they had both a powered and non-powered GP38 on ebay. Since MTH cataloged the RS-3s, I passed on the powered GP38 but grabbed the dummy unit. They shipped it immediately. Also being in Ohio, I received it the next day...and in perfect condition.
About a week ago, Moody Street Trains again had a few SD40-2s and GP38s listed on ebay.
I've read a couple of posts in this thread of people saying they have an MTH Ohio Central boxcar. I've searched MTH's website using the product locator and found no reference of a Ohio Central boxcar. Does anyone have a picture of one that they would like to post. If they're out there, I'd sure like to see what they look like. I'd like to find one even more. Do they really exist?
Hi PaulG,
I was pretty sure that I had a list of what has been made in Ohio Central and I have never heard of a boxcar either. I am wondering if this was custom painted by someone?
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
It wouldn't surprise me that someone created a Ohio Central boxcar. I can't believe that MTH didn't release one when they released the coil, flat and caboose. After all, a boxcar is pretty basic! I guess I'll drop an email to MTH to suggest that they release a Premier Ohio Central boxcar.
Paul,
You would have though they would have made a boxcar, probably not a lot of call for this RR I am guessing. I see a lot of Ohio Central in the Niles/ Youngstown, Ohio area in my travels. They have a awesome paint scheme, kind of reminds my of the old Erie Lackawanna paint scheme, in my opinion!!
