I need to replace the E unit on a 027 F-3 50's diesel. I can't so how it attaches to the frame. Everything else unscrews. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. Don

One screw right behind the motor field(actually forward of the motor) holds the E-Unit to the frame. It is a little hidden with the motor in place.
Thanks Rob, I pulled the motor and just found it. How embarrassingly easy. Don
If all else fails, hammer.......

Don:
I assume you are talking about the #2240 single-motor F3 from 1956. I don’t have that one but I have a chassis from the similar #2243 Santa Fe.
Attached are 2 close-up photos: the first one shows the e-unit sitting on its side to the right of the slot in that vertical appendage to the frame. The second photo shows the e-unit mounted vertically with the screw going into that slot horizontally. Hopefully you can see the slot and the screw.

Thanks Bill, I found out how to do it by wiggling it after I pulled the motor. You guys are what make the forum the best. Don
Don, why are you replacing the E unit? Is it damaged? Usually these can be rebuilt economically, to function like new. Just curious.
Units fine. Frame has major damage from battery. I found new/old frame on E-bay with good battery bracket so I'm taking everything off the old frame. Thanks for asking though. Don
