Yeah ratpak!
Belgian Waffles - made famous at the 1964 - 1965 World's fair! YUM! Yesterday, over breakfast, one of the boys told me about his first experience at the '64 - '65 NY World's Fair, they ended their visit that day at the Ireland pavilion where they found Irish Coffee for $1.00 a glass. From then on every visit started and ended at the Ireland pavilion! Happy St. Patricks Day!
This just in . . . . . literally "right out of the box" from Lionel, Concord NC!! The "decorated model" for our SKU 6-58579 LIRR G-16 Exhibit Car. This is the prototype model from China sent for our approval. The technicians at the factory have done an outstanding job of rendering all the colors and artwork of artist George Wybenga.
Here you can see the liveried parts that make up a Lionel "aquarium car." The plastic body, ours will have clear, smooth side windows, (rather than the "wavy" clear plastic fishy windows), the "filmstrip" that is stretched between the motorized rollers attached to the car's metal base and the translucent "background" that will be illuminated from within - the "filmstrip" travels around this artwork.
We are very pleased with the workmanship and I have sent our approval to Lionel this afternoon. Ordering closes on this very unique . . . . very collectible Lionel car on Saturday, March 22!! Grab an order form at www.rmli.us
Here's hoping you enjoyed this little look "backstage" in the building of Lionel/Railroad Museum of Long Island Collectible Cars!!
