Hello guys. if you are looking for something to do after the York Meet closes for the day next week, the Lower Susquehanna Valley Railroad Club is sponsoring an Open House event Wednesday the 16th, Thursday the 17th, Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th.

Hours are 1PM to 10PM Wednesday, 5PM to 10PM Thursday and Friday.  11AM to 7PM Saturday.

The Club is located in Columbia, PA which is right across the Susquehanna River (Wrights Ferry Bridge) heading east on RT 30 towards Lancaster. An alternate route is to take RT 462 which runs directly from York to Columbia across the scenic and iconic Veteran's Memorial Bridge. From there, it is only a few blocks to the Club. Goggle maps show a 17-mile trip from the Fairgrounds to the Club.

I am a member of the Club. We will have our modular layout running for all to enjoy. I plan to be there every day

Here is the address:

21 N 2nd St, Columbia, PA, United States, 17512
Any questions, feel free to contact me (keisman@comcast.net) or the Club (lsvmrailroader@gmail.com)
Thanks.

Chris here from the LSVMRR club.  We had an amazing turn-out yesterday.  The Detroit 3railers stopped by and run PS3.0 No 734 Western Maryland, Lionel UP 4-12-2, and Maine Central RS-11's.  The Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers stopped in.  It was a great time hanging out with them.

Others stopped by from California, Maryland and some locals from Pennsylvania.

We are open tonight from 5-9.  Stop by and check us out.  The modular is open to run your trains.

Enjoy York everyone.

Parking:

There is a lot of street parking near the club.  Free street parking on Second Street and Walnut Street.  There is a small lot on Avenue H only on the right side that says meter parking.  That is available to park after 5.  Do not park on the left side of Avenue H.  That is for Chickies Rock Moose club only.  If you park on Avenue H feel free to ask any club member to verify you are parked correctly

There is additional meter parking on Locust Street.

In the past we haven't had any issues with people finding parking within a block or two of the club.

If you are in town, this event is definitely worth the time! The guys (and a few gals too) are really friendly and have a superb layout. Mr. chessiechick and I stopped by a year ago during York week and were warmly met by Don and some other folks. We liked the club so much that we ended up joining!

We hope to be at the club this Friday evening sometime, if we haven't already exhausted ourselves doing all of York in one day. (Dang job gets in the way, but I am re-retiring soon so that won't be an issue come next April!) I'll be in the BRIGHT YELLOW Chessie t-shirt - stop and say hi, I'd love to meet you!

Stopped by on Wednesday afternoon.  Friendly and enthusiastic folks - nice to see that younger guys are participating.  The club has the best scenery that I've seen on a modular layout, and there are numerous whimsical scenes.  They also have a small portable layout that has a couple of innovative features.  If you're in the area, it's well worth a stop.

The HO club upstairs has an impressive layout.  The centerpiece scene is a model of the town of Columbia.
