Burning sugar cane has a most distinctive smell. And a lot of smoke and ash. I can remember it in Queensland 40+ years ago. 2 foot gauge for cane trains in the foreground.

Jimmy they are a money making company. I don't think they want volunteers but they are sure nice folks. They let you go anywhere and will even help you out. The shops are really amazing. They have to make almost everything. Not much is available for narrow gauge off the shelf. I still do volunteer video work for the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. Just redid a new video for their spring run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...zMi4Qi_9DUB_vs5FpHKA If your around Northern California at the end of the month, so ride their Pacific.

I shot tons of video over the years for them so I have a huge library of video available. Don
