All:
I am looking for the proper color of yellow paint to use on caboose ends (railings). This would be some sort of "safety yellow". Any suggestions as to paint make & number?
Thanks,
George

George, are these for PRR cabins? If so, Safety Yellow is too light and bright. Pennsy modelers I know use Model Master Chrome Yellow (color code 4683). Either prime with a coat of white or use two coats of Chrome Yellow to get the proper shade.

Hi Bob,
In a manner of speaking, yes. An N5 that was purchased by Weirton Steel is the subject. I am planning to paint it some color of yellow, then weather the **** out it. But I will start with Model Master Chrome Yellow. Thank you!

Thank you Neal!
On Maintenance of Way track equipment I used Safety, Bright, and John Deere yellows.
Modeling I use cheap craft acrylic water based paints. Mixed with alcohol or water. Spray and Brush painting. Can be purchased for $0.50 to $1.00 at box stores. Every shade you can imagine. Hard to find color matches I use a paint book to match from auto body paint shops

Probably not an issue for you, but the Pennsy did not paint their handrails chrome yellow until 1949.
