Parts and or Repair for current Lionel products.

I was looking around and found the parts section at Lionel support. I dont need any parts now but just for curiosity I looked up my Pennsy 0-8-0 switcher that came with my Lionchief set. There are only a few parts listed that I saw that some said were unavailable and some aren't listed. Is there a place that does carry parts or does one have to send it to Lionel or somewhere else for repair?
