My prayers go out to you at this most difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss.

no words are ever enough. I sometimes avoid these posts so I don't say the wrong things.
I do say a prayer anytime I read them. I can only hope you find comfort in reading some of the great replies that the members post.
So with everyone here, I'll also say God bless and all the comfort to you and yours.
Oh my God, Gerry, my heart is broken to read this. Lynley and I send you our deepest condolences and prayers for Bill and your family and for Freddie.
We remember that picture and all the Philly area gatherings and his visit to our home. I will miss his great humor and always enjoyed his endless knowledge of the PRR.
We will miss him very much.
Gerry, my most sincere sympathies on the passing of your brother Bill. God Bless you and your family.
Paul
I want to thank so many people for their condolences on the passing of my brother.
Starting at the top, I didn’t know Steve Maier until I joined the NJ HiRailers. He and Leslie are great people and we became friends. So many “small world” things here that it’s amazing. Leslie and Sue graduated high school together.
Chris & Linda Lonero and Captain John & Marion are great people. Many of you probably saw the recent post when Mike Caruso and I visited John. So gracious. And John is a ferry boat Captain. Last summer he was kind enough to take Sue, me and my grandchildren back and forth across Long Island Sound on the bridge. They were really impressed and had a great time.
Pat & Jean Marinari. What can I say? Well, what I can say is that Pat and I are both Drexel graduates. I graduated a year before he did. We were both pinochle players. We both played in the morning at the same place. We figured out the odds of us not having met each other half a century ago was virtually nonexistent. And Jean and Sue went to school across the street from each other. The things you learn when you get to know people.
Dave is a really nice guy, and I know he liked my brother. What I also learned is that Dave grew up in West Philly, loved music and was a customer in our store. I probably met him a half century ago also.
Norm, Rich & Mike, I do thank you.
Thank you Barry & Cora. As I always tell Barry, I’m glad to contribute to his retirement fund. Cora, just spend the money.
Marty & Dotty have become true friends and we talk regularly. Marty is so different from Bill but so much like Bill in terms of a fantastic knowledge and willingness to help. Super people.
Speaking of super people, I received a bunch of e-mails and calls from my NJ HiRailer friends. Vic, Bob F, Kevin, Tim, Mat, John G, and on and on. What a great group of people. I’m so glad I joined. My recollection is that Vinny made Bill a birthday cake at Trainstock one year, but I can’t find a picture of it. And that was before I was a member.
Bob D, thank you for being a really great friend.
Redball, Don, Paul, Dave – thank you. I do appreciate it.
Alex, it was great seeing you & Dina at the NJHR party. Hopefully we will get together before too long and you can see my layout.
Thank you John, Andy & Joe.
Ben, I thank you for your condolences and the fact that you make the NJHR what it is. Mike, thank you for being a good friend.
Bill, we’re going to have highs of about 30 degrees for the next few days, so why am I NOT in Scottsdale? I can only say again that it was so great being out there earlier this year and seeing the fantastic layout you guys have. And you were so very nice to me and my friends. Once again, I thank you. I was really glad to see that you won the BLUE COMET award.
Greg and David, thank you. David, got any more good deals for me?
Alan, it’s been great to get to know you and I hope that sometime Sue and I get to see your layout. Captain John just can’t say enough about it. I wish you the very best in your new role at OGR and hope it doesn’t give you ulcers.
Ted, Walter, Greg, thank you.
Jimmy D, you are my friend. Although I wondered about that earlier this year. In my role as Treasurer of the NJHR, we had difficulties with our cable provider. They wouldn’t talk to me because I wasn’t on the “authorized” list. I told them that they didn’t have to talk to me, but that I was Treasurer and I didn’t have to pay them (like they cared). So after I didn’t pay them, they canceled our cable. Jim would sit in his chair at the club looking at the blank TV. And he was NOT HAPPY. And I KNOW I was the reason he was NOT HAPPY. He knew it too, but we got it resolved.
Don, it was great having you at the house earlier this year. Me and my traveling buddies hope to get up to you before summer comes around.
Chessie1971 and whatshouldIbuynext (I like that), thank you.
Peter, always a pleasure to be with you. We’ve got the new Trainstock hats and you know I have one for you.
Farmer Bill, I thank you.
Chuck, it was great seeing you at the club at the last show. Let me know the next time you’re in my area and hopefully you can stop by.
Joe, Tom, Paul, Dave, Jon & Joe, I thank you. Dave, are you on the Pine Creek in Central Pa, northwest of Williamsport? We had friends (since deceased) who had a cabin on Pine Creek and vacationed there for several years. Beautiful area.
Brian, we hope you and Lynley are doing well. It has only been a bit over 4 years since we took that picture at my house, but so much has happened. Sue and I hope you and Lynley are enjoying the west coast.
Thank you Paul. I hope things are well.
Gerry
Sorry to hear about the loss of your brother Bill. I will always remember his being interested in the PRR and the GG-1's and always enjoyed his company whenever I saw him. Peace be with you and your family at this sad time.
Sorry for you're loss Gerry! I never knew PRRBILL was your brother.
Gerry, sorry for your loss.
IWe had a birthday cake for Bill at one of our Trainstock events ( Actually I think we had it at two ) Thanks to my Good friend Dotty we were able to display these great pics of Bill He was an awesome guy
Sorry for your loss Gerry. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Gerry,
Sorry to hear of Bill's passing, and please accept my condolences. Bill was a great guy with lots of toy train knowledge and also knew a lot about the Pennsylvania Railroad.
I knew Bill for many years, Over ten years ago, when I would go to Southeast Pennsylvania with the family to visit the in-laws, ThirdRail Mike (remember him) would contact some of the local OGR forum members like Bill Morlitz, Bill Parkinson (Bill P), Brian Thinnes (Train Diesel) and others, and we would go to breakfast or lunch and then to Nicholas Smith Trains. Bill then introduced me to his brother Gerry, also a lawyer like me, who also lived near me in Westchester County New York. For years after that, Gerry and I would run trains at his house once a month since he had a great layout.
Bill will surely be missed.
Erol
Bob, Skip, Dave, Phil & Erol, thank you. Best wishes for a happy & healthy New Year.
Ben, thanks for the pictures. More than a little bit of irony in one of them. Bill loved Trainstock.
Gerry
Gerry, I'm so sorry to read about the passing of your brother and our friend "PRRBill".
Bill has always been a big plus to this web site and his loss is felt by us all. I not only valued his toy train post but as a history buff I esspecially enjoyed his expertise as a professional in that field.
My prayers go out to Bill, you and all of his family and friends.
Your Friend,
Mario
