Last November at Trainfest, forum member Popsrr asked me to take some photos of my Grand Trunk Western trains and post them for him to see. Sadly, I did not do this. So I figured I'd post them now and hope sees the thread before it falls off the front page.

The crew of train number 201, the Halstead Local, pumps up the air and waits for the green to depart Independence Yard

Move 'em out!

It's a short trip to Halstead street where today's pick ups and set outs are. By the way, Sandberg & Son Hardware has a 7' stuffed Sasquatch in the sporting goods section.Definitely worth the trip downtown!

Meanwhile, out on the main, a GTW U4b has been called up for freight duty due to a power shortage on the IHMD. 6410 waiting for the green allows me to grab a couple quick shots.

Number 201 backs off the mainline just in time as 6410 storms by with it's priority freight.

Finally, we catch a great shot of 6410 as she crosses Halstead St. on the beautiful art deco overpass.

There you go Popsrr. Hope you enjoyed them Sorry it took 3 months!

The National Train show in Grand Rapids was packed.

The amazing MTH GE Hybrid Evolution diesel was shown with all the side lights working.

The new Williams by Bachmann GP30 was shown running in place, it sounded and looked great in person.

There were very few O Gauge layouts.

I was so busy running around looking at everything and looking for things that I missed purchasing earlier that I did not take any photos.

Any O gauge or O Scale model of the newly repainted Green Saskatchewan Cylindrical Hoppers are supposed to be licenced by the model making company through the Pacific West guys in Canada.

The scenery on the HO Scale layouts was amazing.

Hi Pops!

i haven't been here on the Forum for a while. WAY too busy! I did take a few shots at the National NMRA SHow in Grand Rapids in August. I'll see if I can post them this week.

Thanks for posting your pics as well. You officially have the most unique GTW equipment that ever ran the rails! Wish I had been able to buy some of those GP40's when they were around!

Rich, Thanks for thinking of me and your NMRA pictures. I will enjoy seeing them for sure!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comments on my fleet of CN/GTW MOTIVE POWER.

It seems like we all get very busy in our day to day schedules. I am working on the design of a new 12 stall Multi level Diesel Facility 48"x88" for my fleet of Modern Diesels. It seems I can get so wraped up in the design that I am not aware of a lot of other things going on around me. Getting very close to the finishing touches on Colors and materials.

I will have to share pictures of the drawings soon.

Rich, I saw this and thought you might like a little bit of history.

5936 is one out of a group of ex-GTW SD40-2's to be brought out of storage and reactivated it is now the last SD40-2 to wear the Blue and Orange as the 5937 was repainted a few weeks before. Here it sits outside of F building waiting to be serviced.
