Thank you yes ! I did get a answer from LIONEL! he wrote to me saying "Hello Daniel.
The 2 outside pins are tied together electrically on this smoke unit. You just need 1 wire on 1 of the outside pins and 1 wire on the center pin. This is designed to run on about 12 volts AC. Just hook it to the incoming power supply and away you go. You may want to keep an eye on the smoke unit to ensure it does not get too hot to melt anything. Adjust the voltage down it you feel it is getting too much smoke output (too hot).
I wish I asked him where the two wires got hooked up (on the original one) I will mount it as remade or remote from the unit one my unit comes and I test how far a tube it will flow our from!
If you see whre the red and black wires go let me know I am glad this is a direct A/C unit with out any dc rectifiers or low voltage resisters needed..
DANiel
Easy on the wires! You can even see it in the picture you posted.... On 3 pin connector the 2 outside pins are connected together on the circuit board. So you just need to hook one wire to the center pin, and the 2nd wire to one of the outer pins. Since it is AC is won't matter which one is which. However, following convention I would put the center pin to Center Rail (Red), and the outer pin to Common Return (Black).
Enjoy
Thank-YOU that will help, I thought the center was the ground! or U I plan to wire it so when the postwar 175 countdown is pulled down ( lever on the right of controller) it will start the heating element! then by the time the countdown gets off of the metal slide in the back it will shut off the unit. as the warning bulb also shuts off same time) I plan on making it so that it looks like the smoke is going to the rocket as if its a fail lift off! then I want to when hitting the fire button have a prerecorded sound recorder say failed abort abort , abort, abort! should be nice!
