Most of the time if I have a stall issue that just "happens" its a dirty track. It doesn't have to look dirty to be dirty enough to block a DCS or Legacy signal. If your lucky a good cleaning will fix it. Remember, some cleaning agents can build up a film and attract more dirt so it may be a good idea to clean rails with alcohol pushing firmly. Best of luck.
Are you running Legacy or TMCC?
Does the headlight flicker in that spot as well?
yes I am using lionel legacy and yes the headlight flickers and it stalls in that location plus the engine sound fades out when I blow the horn

I am humbly refraining from an answer because track cleaning is a personal choice. I must say that some cleaners you will be very happy with at first but over time may build a film so be careful of that. I do stay away from abrasive cleaning also.
Are the mountains made with metal screen material??? If so, that is probably your problem...You have to ground the screening material...

Its a suitcase connector, these can be found in any hardware store and come in different sizes to match the guage of wire you use.The buss wire passes through one side of the connector and the feeder goes in the other side and stops. A metal crimp gets squeazed into the connector with pliers and makes the connection.

I open it up and see if the wires for the signal are attached to the railings.. Most of my lionel es44s only had one attached..
Sounds like a "Earth Ground Signal Radiator" issue or aka a ground plane issue. I would try earth grounding the chicken wire screen.
A word of warning about the suitcase connectors. They are recomended a lot and are indeed easy to use but make sure you use the correct size for the wire you used. These connectors work by forcing the wire into a slot between two metal prongs. If the wire is too big for the slot the metal tab can damage the wire and in some cases even cut it. Yes they are simple and quick just make sure you get the proper size.

I have the legacy base and the TPC 400 wired the same way shown on page 7 of the legacy manual any way to do a bus wire in this order
I put a 10" terminal section where the train is and then ran the red and black wire under the table then connected them to a barrier strip then I ran wires from the barrier strip to the main power sorce and it solved the problem
Do not use Goo Gone on your track, especially if you are using rubber tire trains. Use alcohol as previously mentioned. MTH recommends denatured alcohol and that is what I use.
