I picked up a Polar Express Trainsounds tender at Greenberg this past weekend. Not too impressed with it, is the whistle supposed to sound like a diesel horn? I thought maybe it had the wrong board in it but under power it has the chuffing so I guess that's the correct board. And the crew chatter is a little annoying coming from a steam locomotive let alone the PE.  Couldn't they have changed the crew talk to "Delay due to reindeer on the track" or "Snowing pretty hard up North" instead of the plain Jane "Track 3 clear" or "Hold for dispatch"? Anyone else have one? Your thoughts?

The "whistle" in the all trainsound tenders (PE or otherwise) does sound more like a diesel horn than an air whistle.... so it's "working" as designed.

Also, it only plays one sound at a time, chuffing, whistle, or bell.  This is again normal for a trainsounds tender.

I'm not a big fan of trainsound tenders, but it's better than nothing and I have only one in my fleet.  I'm just more of a polyphonic kind of guy which you can get from MTH, Lionel railsounds, or Williams Trueblast plus.
